Here’s a friendly reminder, fellow photo geeks. Our February 2015 photo contest is in full swing and submissions are pouring in. We’re really loving all of the creative shots, and look forward to seeing even more images that represent why you should be the winner of this fantastic Canon AE-1 with FD 50mm ƒ/1.8.
Remember, we’re looking for photos that visually represent why you’d love to own this classic bit of photographic history. Show us what kind of adventures you’d go on with your new film camera, or capture some kind of idyllic scene that would be perfect, if only you had an AE-1 with which to capture it. Stretch your mind and shoot for something unique. We know it’s a challenge, but we’re sure you’re up for it.
Full entry details can be found on the original contest page, and we’ve re-posted them after the break, so check the rules and enter to win!
Casual Photophile is a photography site, so to enter the contest we’re going to ask that entrants submit a photo via our Ello page, Facebook wall, or Instagram feed.
Take a creative photo that visually represents why you deserve to win the camera and post it with the hashtag #casualphotophilephotocontest.
We don’t care what camera you use; it can be a 5D Mark III or an old Nokia flip phone. The key is to use your creativity to bring a unique vision to life. Your shot can be of anything, it just has to visually represent why you deserve to win this classic film camera. A challenging brief, but we’re sure you’re up for it.
Contest entries must be received by February 28th, 2015. You can submit as many different photos as you like, and you can submit the same entry on each social media platform, but duplicate submissions on a single platform will be ineligible.
The photos will be reviewed across all our social media platforms and we’ll choose a winner by March 3rd. We’ll announce the winner in a post displaying their name and showcasing the winning shot, and we may post some of our favorites that didn’t make the final cut. The winning shooter will be contacted to arrange shipment of their new camera.
The best part of running Casual Photophile is connecting with photo geeks from all over the world. With this in mind, the contest is open to anyone, in any country, on any continent.
This is an exciting way for CP to give back to its readers, and encourage more people to shoot with these wonderful, vintage machines.
We hope you enjoy the contest.
Good luck!
